The Health and Welfare Information Systems Center (TEHIK) is an information and communication technology competence center in the field of health, social and Labour.
TEHIK implements the most important public sector IT projects, advise other state agencies and administrations on new developments.
TEHIK started operations on January 1, 2017, when the ICT Department of the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Estonian E-Health Foundation were consolidated. Today, TEHIK is a partner for the Ministry of Social Affairs in creating new e-services for the Social Insurance Board, the Health Insurance Fund, the Health Board, the Institute for Health Development, the State Agency of Medicines, the Labor Inspectorate, the Astangu Vocational Rehabilitation Center and the Equality Commissioner . In addition, TEHIK has an important role to play in ensuring the work of the data register of social services and benefits for local governments and in cooperating with health care providers, who must be provided with secure data exchange services within the health information system.
